daily beatings

Although it appears in these pictures that we torture and inflict pain upon our children, this is not true. Ashton was wondering if he could still talk with his mouth taped, so Aaron obliged him. And Mesa smacked herself in the face a little too hard, her nose bleeds easily.

Mesa and Mesa Falls

We took a little trip to Mesa Falls the other day and took our new camera. Mesa Falls is not handicap accessible. So Aaron had to awkwardly, step by step, take Mesa down a few flights of stairs. On the way up we were a little more efficient. I carried Mesa and he carried the wheelchair. Mesa loved the water and the view. I had to keep a close watch on Greyson, my mind was flipping through all sorts of scenes involving him and the rushing water fall. We got a few good pictures.

Marin is 9.

My gosh, I remember so clearly the day we walked out of the room holding Marin and said goodbye as Marin's birth mother squeaked out a tiny smile underneath her sad and very tearful eyes. I had never been so happy and sad at the same time. I even put her in her car seat the wrong way because my emotions were so jumbled up. Marin is so tender hearted. She cried terribly after watching 17 miracles. She is a good sport, putting up with 2 boys all day long. She hates going for walks and most vegetables. She would do anything for ice cream. She couldn't sleep the other night and asked if she could sleep in my bed for a while. The next morning before school I noticed she has mascara on. We had to have a little talk about not wearing make up for a few more years. She is so creative and smart!! She is my angel, she would visit me in the hospital while I was on bed rest with the twins and always eat my treats. Then she would put her chubby little hand on my face and say "Don't cry, momma." I cherish the fact that she loves to sing. HAPPY BIRTHDAY beautiful girl!!

chatty chatty bang bang

Recently, if you can believe it, Greyson has become even more curious about the world around him and asks even more questions and talks even more! Some of the best things he says are in the back seat of the car while driving the kids around. He asked where cheese, meat and bacon come from yesterday. He informed me that ladybugs make cheese, became completely bewildered when he saw a mobile home on the back of a semi, told me that the red sports car with the spinners was the coolest thing he has ever seen and informed me that he would be buying his own horse to ride to my house when I was a grandma. GOOD GRACIOUS!!!!! Last night he would not stop talking to Ashton while they were in bed, I nicely told him I would be resorting to putting a large piece of tape over his mouth if he didn't stop talking. He didn't. Why do I raise such chatterboxes? I don't like to talk.

just thinking...

I lay awake at night thinking "nothing cool ever happens to me" I guess what I am really thinking is "I wish I could have another baby." I love my kids and sometimes I fool myself into thinking that I could handle another little one. I can't separate if it's a selfish need or if I am filling some void. I hear a baby crying once in a while, but not as much as I used to. The last thing I want is to take time and attention away from Mesa. I suppose I just wish I was capable and tough enough to do it. This week I have taken on my new calling as Primary President, finished writing the primary program, prepared a lesson for sharing time and helped plan a baptism. I think the Lord, for the time, has given me a few more little bodies to care for.

summa, summa, summertime

My kids love to swim, swim and swim some more!!! Ashton has discovered how much he likes swim parks and slides. Marin just likes to dive and breech in the water like a whale. Greyson just tries to keep from freezing. And Mesa only really likes warm water. We were in Boise this weekend for a quick trip to visit family and go to the water park. Boise has changed SO much since the last time I was there. Even though I do not appear in any pictures, I am still the mother of my children. I hate pictures of myself anyway.
Ashton is playing soccer and has figured it all out. He scores about 6 goals each game. I have discovered that Greyson is quite the runner! Those little legs can giddy up and go. Poor Mesa had to have some teeth that were loose, pulled out. She does not react well to anesthesia. So now she is toothless and still giggles when I call her gorgeous. And Marin has started helping me out a little with babysitting her sister when she is napping or in bed at night. I can't believe she will be 9 years old soon.
