BABY PASSIN OUT
We put up the tree with gobs of ornaments on it and it looked like christmas ten times over to a one year old. So begins the endless days of saying "No, no Greyson don't touch the tree. So last night I got a little tired of seeing him tackle the tree and swatted his little hand. He got so mad, his mouth opened to scream and nothing came out.....for a long time. Next thing I know he has passed out on the floor and forgot to breathe. I have heard of kids doing this but I have not personally witnessed it. I was covered in sweat because it scared me so bad. I thought to call 911 but then realized that a little smack to the face might bring him around. His face was a horrible gray color. Then he took an enormous breath and looked at me like I was the meanest mom in the world. Well, two minutes later he was laughing and spiting at us, so no worries. Anyone had this happen to them???

I found your link on Jamie's blog (I'm her sister-in-law). My husband is out of town, and I'm a little bored, so I was exploring some her friends' blogs--yes, I know, it's a little strange, but I'm really bored. Anyway, my now 5 year-old used to do that all the time when he was little. He would get mad or hurt and start to cry--he would exhale and then wouldn't inhale till he started to pass out. I got to be pretty quick at rushing to his side to catch him as he went down from lack of oxygen. I would hear him start to cry, then the next thing I knew, he'd be on the floor nearly passed out. His eyes would glass over and he'd be unresponsive for a couple minutes. It really scared me the first time it happened, but after half a dozen times, I figured out that if I blew in his face when he first started to hold his breath, it would startle him and make him gasp for breath. Don't worry, Josh grew out of that habit and turned out perfectly fine (although, who knows how many brain cells he killed in the meantime).
oh boy! lil drama queen! my cousin tara's son used to do that without fail about 5 times a day....he'd start crying, we'd start blowing in his face....wowsers....how scary!!!! sorry!
YIKES....nope. Thank goodness, I don't know what I would do??
My Little Leigh is starting to get an attitude...so maybe I'll get to find out.
