a wee bit more

New Family Photos

We borrowed our neighbors yard for our family pics a few weeks ago. Since our yard still has mostly baby trees and no shade. I love the fall season, sweaters, boots and beanies. Well, I guess that is actually winter. I just hate seeing 10 inches of snow on the driveway and wondering how I am going to get Mesa in her wheelchair through the frozen tundra. Thank goodness we have great neighbors that love their snowblowers and take pity on us. Anyway, I am glad my kids and hubbie are all so cute. I look ten years older than the last family picture we took and I feel it!

Four front teeth gone

If you have a weak stomach you might not want to look at these pictures. Actually, it doesn't look as bad as it did after it happened. Marin was kneeling on the back of their little jeep and Ashton, like me, loves to gun it and Marin's face went right into the windshield of the jeep. Ashton came running in to tell me that Marin was hurt, I told him to tell her she needed to come in the house. So he disappeared outside for a few more minutes. He comes back in the door and tells me there is alot of blood and Marin is screaming. So I sprinted outside and got to Marin in record time, only to see four missing teeth and big gapping holes in her gums. Well, after icing the gums and big dose of ibuprofen we were grateful they are only baby teeth. She has been quite the trooper and very brave throughout the whole thing. I keep asking her if her gums hurt because I am pretty sure mine would. Thank goodness she just had school and family pictures!

Dallas Cowboys Game

So Aaron and Ashton flew to Arizona to attend a cowboys game, hoping that the bad luck in the past would not rear its ugly head again. Every time Aaron goes to a game, the cowboys lose. We were hoping Ashton would be a good luck charm. And............no! The weather was warm, Big Bill was showing Aaron and Ashton the town, Ashton stood on his chair in Johnny Rockets and danced, the waitress decided to give him a free sundae for his bad moves, everything seemed all rosy but the cowboys just could not pull off a win for the Peterson boys. And to top it off, Romo broke his pinky on the last play of the game. I don't think Aaron cried but who would blame him for shedding a few tears. Maybe next year boys!!!

And Finally Ashton

I just don't know what to say about this kid! He is so dang funny, he has some of the best one liners I have ever heard. He loves to tease. He will tell me that Greyson is going out the front door, or that Marin is fast asleep on the driveway. He has such an imagination, I am so glad he and Mesa are going to school together this year. Ashton constantly throughout the day will say "I love you, Mom" and says to Aaron all the time "We are buddies huh, dad" He and Marin can't live without each other. Everyone says to cherish the time when your kids are little and still at home because they grow up so fast. Ashton has always seemed older to me that he is, mostly because he can talk you to death and still has plenty to say!

Beautiful Mesa

We have so many beautiful pictures of Mesa, I just wanted to post them for all to see. These are also some of her favorite things to do. She is an enormous blessing to us and her smile just melts our hearts!!

greysons favorite things to do

Greyson is by far our most active and on the go child. If I sit on the floor to play with him, he thinks I want to wrestle and will lunge at me as hard as he can. He loves to put both footballs in his hands and crawl around. He does prefer to wrestle with dad because Ashton just takes him on the death roll like a crocodile. For some reason he doesn't mind sitting in Mesa's wheelchair, maybe because he thinks its something big kids do. He is alot of fun and makes us laugh after he has crawled on the couch and fallen off for the tenth time.
